Anthon Sørensen

Flt Lt Anthon Sørensen worked for the East Asiatic Company in Pedang, when the Japanese attacked in December 1941. Shortly before the surrender in February 1942, he evacuated to India, initially, where he volunteered for the Royal Air Force. He served in South Africa.

Asger Laursen

Asger Laursen is one of a small number of Danish pilots who volunteers for the Malayan Volunteer Air Force during the Second World War. He ends the war in a Japanese prisoner of war camp on Java.

Eli Mariane Basballe Heilskov (née Sørensen)

Pvt. Eli Heilskov enlisted in the Women’s Army Corps (WAC) in 1943. She was one of twenty-nine Danish born WACs during the Second World War. While she was serving as a WAC, her son volunteered for the Danish military forces in exile in Sweden in December 1944.

Henning Pedersen

Henning Pedersen volunteers for the Royal Air Force during the Second World War, but wins distinction in No. 489 (RNZAF) Squadron and No. 279 Squadron.
